There will always be an activity that centers around the book and of course community and connection!
Muse Reading Room: How to Not always be working
I’m so excited for the second installment of Muse Reading Room and I think you guys are all going to love this book. I haven’t finished it yet but Marlee Grace is someone I have been following for a while. She used to have an Artist Residency in Michigan where she also hosted a podcast called Have Company. She then moved to California to open a new artist residency called Center. For the time being she is back in Michigan. You can find out more about Marlee here.
This month I am collaborating with Lora from Free Period Press to bring you an evening filled with community, connection and creativity. Jessica, the founder of Milo and Me (a beautiful boutique for dogs and dog mamas) graciously offered to host.

Muse Reading Room: big Magic edition
For the first installment of Muse Reading Room I decided to kick it off with none other than Elizabeth’s Gilbert’s Big Magic. I know that in a book club you usually choose a book you haven’t read yet but I just thought this book would be a perfect way to start the New Year. Two summers ago I was introduced to this book and it honestly changed my life. I’m pretty sure anyone else who has read Big Magic would tell you the same thing. It inspired me to find my creativity again. It reminded me that I didn’t have to be a famous painter or a poet to be creative. Everyone can be creative. It also talks a lot about fear and how being fearless is a myth. Instead Elizabeth talks about how you should work with fear not without it. Alright, well in case you’ve never read this book I won’t say anymore. But let me tell you a little about what is going to happen at the first edition of Muse Reading Room. This time I am collaborating with Chrissy, the founder of Verdure Salon and Lindy, the human behind A Linderella Story.
Where: Verdure Salon
When: January 20th, 6-8 PM
How much does it cost? FREE but unfortunately registration is closed. We have a waiting list so if you didn’t register in time shoot me an e-mail. We also are trying to think of a way to involve those that are not able to attend in person, so stay tuned.
What do I need to bring? Your copy of Big Magic and a plain, un-used notebook (huh? Don’t worry I’ll explain below).
What will we be doing? Well of course we will discuss the book but this isn’t your average book club. We will come together at Verdure Salon for community, connection and inspiration AND we will be making our own journals to take home! Think vision boarding, journal prompts and inspirational quotes all wrapped up in one little package.
All supplies for the journal making activity will be provided other than the actual journal. Please bring your own. There will also be wine and snacks provided.
